XyloZero Battery Safety

AGV Battery Fire Early Detection

Detects precursor signals before thermal runaway where AGV and AMR batteries charge and wait.

A localization microphone and XyloZero sensor nodes collect sound and condition signals around the batteries. A main control box identifies abnormal events and where they occurred, then alerts the control room and the floor.

Field challenges

Before thermal runaway, a lithium-ion battery can change subtly in sound and ultrasound, not only in temperature. Smoke and flame detectors respond after ignition, so charging areas where many AGVs charge together need a separate check for precursor signals.

How it works

A localization microphone above the charging area listens to the whole zone, and XyloZero nodes mounted near charging stations and battery racks collect condition signals around the batteries. Every device is wired to the main control box for power and data. The control box selects abnormal events at the edge, estimates their location from the sound direction, and sends the result to the control system and on-site alarms.

Where it applies

  • AGV and AMR charging areas
  • Battery swap and storage racks
  • ESS
  • EV charging areas
  • Battery pack storage

01

Localization microphone

A multichannel microphone array mounted above the charging area. It captures sound events across the zone and computes the direction of arrival to estimate where an event occurred.

  • Multichannel MEMS microphone array
  • Sound direction and event location
  • Wired to the main control box

02

XyloZero sensor node

A sensor node mounted near charging stations and battery racks. It is cabled to the main control box for power and sends sound, temperature and humidity, VOC and other condition signals from around the batteries.

  • Magnet or bolt mounting
  • Wired to the main control box

From detection to response

  1. Sense battery signals

The localization microphone and XyloZero nodes continuously collect sound and condition signals in the charging area.

  2. Select abnormal events

The main control box separates precursor events from normal work sounds at the edge and estimates where they occurred.

  3. Alert the control room

Event type, location and the raw signal go to the control screen and notifications.

  4. Respond on site

On-site alarms and event records help the team check the station and follow up.

Key capabilities

  • Continuous sound-event analysis around batteries
  • Edge selection of precursor events
  • Event location from the localization microphone
  • Wired power and data for continuous operation
  • Control system and on-site alarm integration
  • Support for on-site response and follow-up

Deployment goals

  • Early warning at the precursor stage
  • Event location
  • Control-room review linked to on-site response

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace existing fire detection?
No. It complements it, checking signals before smoke or flame appear so the control room and floor teams can respond sooner.
Where do you start?
We start with areas where batteries gather, such as AGV and AMR charging areas and battery swap or storage racks. ESS and battery pack storage areas are reviewed with the same configuration.
How do I get a quote?
Tell us the size of the area, the number of charging stations, and how far the system should connect to existing control and alarms. We will propose a configuration and quote.
